Jesus is the Greatest

All the evil spirits recognize Jesus and know that His name is the greatest…

Testimony: Jesus is the Greatest

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4)

When I finished the 4th lesson “No longer I, but Christ” of the DVD Discipleship Program by The Promised Land Ministries International, I didn't feel the urge to practice this lesson.  Ever since I was born again, Christians around me kept telling me how important my new status and new life in Christ were.  However, back in those days, the emphasis of my Christian living was to “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Ephesian 4:1).  But in reality, my focus was on the daily walk of trying to live like a good Christian, since I did not understand much about “the calling with which you were called.”

During the time when I was going through The Promised Land’s DVD Discipleship Program, a friend of mine got pregnant.  She and her husband were staying in the same dormitory where I was.  One day she told me that during the first two months of her pregnancy, she could see things in the unseen realm.  She once saw two kids walking side by side and then disappearing within seconds.  Out of curiosity, I pleaded her to tell me more.  She reluctantly revealed an incident related to me.  One day about two months ago, her husband drove her back to our dormitory.  I arrived at the dormitory a little bit early and parked ahead of their car.  She saw someone sitting at the passenger side in my car.  Since the headrest was in the way, she couldn't see that person’s face except his/her black hair.  It seemed that the person was preparing to get out of my car.  At the time, I was back in the dormitory for only a short while and chatted briefly with her husband.  Later on she asked her husband about who was in the car with me.  Her husband said that I was by myself; he did not see anyone in my car.

When she said that, I felt the chills coming up my spine as it brought to my mind another incidence that also happened on a day about one or two months ago.   That day, I parked my car by the street and ran into the dormitory to grab something.  Just as I got out of the dormitory and walked past the passenger side of my car, I saw a 30-some year-old foreigner, sitting in the driver’s seat, looking at me.  It was very vivid.  But when I took another look, that person disappeared.  I didn't pay much attention as I thought this was just an illusion.  However, the description from my pregnant friend made me realized that “the person” did exist.  It was not an illusion at all!

On the day following our conversation, I drove her husband to minister at a church in another city.  Since the city was a bit far from where we lived, we went there on Saturday and stayed overnight for him to preach on Sunday.  When we got to the city, we were greeted by a Christian brother named Kin Fu.  Kin used to be a spirit medium before he became a Christian and he knows the spiritual realm quite well.  According to his experiences, the demons can predict things rather accurately.  Kin was from Malaysia where idol worships are very common.  Many of the people there gamble on horses and often go to temples to get predictions for horse races.  Back then, Kin served as a representative of an evil spirit that appeared in shapes of animals.  Since the spirit often gave predictions correctly, many people went to get fortune telling at the temple where Kin Fu was.  At one time, Kin saw a Caucasian guy waiting in line at the temple to get his fortune told.  The animal spirit asked Kin not to let the guy get into the temple because he was different.  Kin asked, “How is he different from others?”  The animal spirit answered, “Because he worships the Wood.”  Kin knew that the Wood was referring to the cross, because the cross was made out of wood.  Kin asked again, “How do you know that he worships the Wood?”  The spirit said that there was a fragrance emanating from that guy (2 Corinthians 2:15).  Kin was puzzled, “Since he worships the Wood, why does he come to a temple?”  The spirit replied, “Because he does not understand the One whom he believes in.”

Kin moved on to say, “All the evil spirits recognize Jesus’ name.  They all know who Jesus is and they also know that the Name of Jesus is the greatest!”  After becoming a Christian, Kin now serves only Jesus - the creator of the universe.  He no longer serves demons – the fallen creatures.  After hearing the story of my car, Kin encouraged me not to be afraid for we are God’s children with positions and authority.  John 1:12 states, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.”  Kin said to me, “We should know that Jesus is much greater than all the others.”

That night, I was sleepless in my hotel room.  I was very fearful after talking to Kin Fu for now I know for sure that the spiritual realm is real.  As I was praying around 2 am, 1 John 5:4 appeared in my mind.  This was one of the verses that I had learned a week ago during the 4th lesson of the DVD Discipleship Program.  It says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”  I then questioned myself, “Do I really believe that God is greater than all these?  Do I believe that Jesus is greater than the person (from the spiritual realm) who appeared in my car?”  Suddenly, I sensed an external power went into my heart and filled me with amazing calmness.  All of my fears and anxiety were gone instantly.  Honestly speaking, it had been quite a challenge to my faith ever since I heard about this person appearing in my car.  The thought of someone appearing suddenly in the car would frighten me, especially when I was sitting alone in my car.  Could I have the faith not to be afraid?  But thanks be to the Lord!  This incidence forced me to grow up and become mature in Christ.  That morning at the hotel room, I began to believe in the truth that “this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith”.  I had never been so sure that Jesus is much greater than all and that we, as the children of God, are equipped with great power and authority.  Since that day, I have not noticed anything unusual in my car.  Furthermore, I have become braver when it comes to facing situations in the spiritual realm.  I now have a better understanding of how to exercise my position and authority in Christ to ward off the evil ones, instead of hiding behind my fears as I had done previously.  I am sure that God is the one who orchestrates all things together for my good.  He allowed all of these things to happen after I learned the lesson on who I am in Jesus and the position I have in Christ.  From these first-hand experiences, I now know that it is such a privilege to be a child of the Almighty God!  Praise the Lord!
