Miracles Follow Those Who Believe

I stood in the house with a complex feeling. Peter’s amazing experience of how he got out of the prison supernaturally (Act 12:5-11) came into my mind. Could it be the angels who just opened the door for me…

Testimony: Miracles Follow Those Who Believe

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. (Mark 16:17-18)

I had been going through the DVD Discipleship Program offered by The Promised Land Ministries International since last September.  After I finished watching the 12th lesson “Signs shall follow those who believe” in early April, I prayed for God to let me experience this truth since the class assignments require us to put whatever we had learned into practice.  Our DVD Discipleship group met weekly on Wednesdays.  But until the following Tuesday, I still had not experienced anything supernatural.  I had no clue how I would fulfill this homework.  At the time, I also had other projects due on that Wednesday from my theological study at a seminary.  Therefore, I thought I would finish these projects first for they were easier to fulfill.  I should be able to get them done after spending some time and effort.  As for the supernatural act from God, that was way beyond my control.

That Tuesday afternoon, I went back to my dormitory and realized that I didn't have the house key with me.  No one was in the house and the front door was locked.  I became very anxious and frustrated for we were required to turn in the school projects that evening.  I checked all the doors and they were all locked.  The only thing I could do was to sit in the car and wait for my dorm-mates to come back.

One hour passed, and still no one showed up.  I checked all the doors again and confirmed that they were all locked.  I wanted to try hopping into the house through the windows but they were all locked as well.  Out of hopelessness, I began walking back toward my car.  When I reached my car, I turned around and looked at the house one more time.  Surprisingly, I saw the front door halfway opened.  I thought maybe one of my dorm-mates just woke up from his nap and opened the door for me.  All of this happened within a very short period of time.

So I walked into the house, but did not see any one inside.  I went on to check all the rooms but no one was in the house at all.  I was stunned and stood in the house with a complex feeling.  Peter’s amazing experience of how he got out of the prison supernaturally (Act 12:5-11) came into my mind.  Could it be the angels who just opened the door for me?  I was in awe, giving thanks to the Lord for orchestrating this experience for me.  On one hand, this gave me enough time to finish my seminary projects on time.  On the other hand, I now have a testimony to share at my DVD Discipleship group and to write for my homework.  Since I was so frustrated earlier when I could not get into the house, I did not even remember to pray at all.  Then, I realized that God had answered my previous prayers to have signs follow me.  Mark 16:17-18 says, “And theses signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”  I had never felt so real about God’s words before.  I now truly believe that miracles would follow me whenever I believe in Him wholeheartedly.   Glory to God!
