Charlene was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She then came to the States, where she earned both of her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona. Later on she became a Christian and got baptized. In 2001, Charlene started working, and has since accumulated much experience through a wide variety of architecture firms in the City of San Francisco. The projects that she had worked on won many awards over the years. She is now the Partner and the Senior Designer of Smithgroup, an architecture and engineering firm. She first attended Rev. Rachel Hsu’s adult Sunday School class in 2002. Through Rev. Rachel’s teaching and coaching, Charlene was born again in 2003, and has since been attending the meetings and classes held by Rev. Rachel, later joined by Rev. Ling-Ling Chang. She became a board member of The Promised Land Ministries International in December of 2017. Later in June of 2018, she also joined the board of The Promised Land Christian Church. She currently resides in the northern part of San Francisco Peninsula with her husband, son, and daughter.
